May 2026 Reading Plan: Self-Care Goals & Sustainable Growth
As we move into May, our focus inside the Goal Skool Book Club shifts toward one of the most important — and often overlooked — areas of growth: self-care.
After spending the first few months of the year building habits, setting routines, and creating momentum, May invites us to pause, reflect, reset, and reconnect with ourselves.
This month, we’ll be reading the Self-Care Goals section from The Ultimate Goals Handbook, where we explore how caring for ourselves is not a luxury — it’s part of the foundation for achieving every goal we set.
Coach’s Note
“With four months of habit-building behind us, May is the perfect time for self-care and reflection. Continue to cultivate your health, relationship, financial, and home routines while taking some time to check in with yourself and ensure you’re on the right track.
Remember, each chapter builds upon the last, reinforcing habits and skills while introducing new ones. Success is achieved through a consistent and comprehensive approach to all areas of life.
Keep this in mind as we continue our journey towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.”
Why Self-Care Matters
In a culture that constantly celebrates hustle and productivity, rest can feel unfamiliar — even uncomfortable.
But as Sheréa VéJauan reminds us throughout this section of the handbook, self-care isn’t about doing less. It’s about creating the boundaries, routines, and practices that allow us to continue growing without burning ourselves out.
This month’s reading encourages us to:
Reevaluate our routines
Prioritize mental, emotional, and physical wellness
Create sustainable habits
Build support systems
Develop affirmations and visual reminders
Celebrate progress instead of constantly chasing the next milestone
Because success means very little if we’re exhausted while trying to achieve it.
